.velana beach hotel.

assalamualaikum,

so, here it is.
the hotel that we stayed in for 3 days and 2 nights.
the hotel manager was amiable
and the staff were helpful.
although we have to walk from the jetty to the hotel,
they do provide a three wheeler sidecar for all the luggage.

ejal made a mistake of booking 3 rooms instead of 2
and they managed to deal with the booking agency
so that we don't have to pay the extra charge.
phewww...
more for shopping!

i forgot to snap photos of its interior.
we got the second floor room and
it was spacious with white and grey hues.
the king sized bed is in the middle of the room,
the wardrobe is also roomy
and the bathroom has a glass wall facing the bed.
the food provided during breakfast was delicious.
we had lunch & dinner in other restaurants on the island.
the hotel lawn area is blissful and calming.

we sat on the swings
(makeshift chairs turned to swings!)
and chatted awhile,
enjoying the sea breeze
and petrichor.
so relaxing...

and later, we walked around the island for a bit.
exploring the whole island is easy
as everything is within walking distance.

this is one of the bays where
most foreigners sunbath in bikinis.
yeah, they are not in the photos.
just have a look at me in my superman t-shirt, will ya?

.night view.

walk in and you will be greeted by
the cafe area on the right
and the reception on the left.
straight ahead is where they store the
swimming equipment like snorkel sets & fins.
all free for hotel guests.
there's a small pond by the steps
where a few fishes swim happily,
i think.

.candle lit dinner and hotel food.

the fried rice in a cafe by the sea
that we had for dinner was similar to ours here
and it was appetizing!
breakfast, as you can see,
was pretty simple and light.
might not be enough for malaysians
who love nasi lemak, roti canai
or pulut with ikan masin every morning.
they also serve fresh yogurt and a variety of cheese.

cost per head:
20 USD  - speedboat from male to maafushi
12 USD - candle lit dinner

first entry: hulhule, maldives
second entry: exploring maafushi

next entry: blue, cool indian ocean
.
.
.
thank you for reading!
